VIII. IMPACT FROM PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Occupational exposure limits according to the National Occupational Health and Safety Committee (NOHSC) Australia:
- The lowest limit of dust concentration according to OES is as follows: Dust containing crystalline silica (quartz) ~ 0.1 mg /m3 TWA (average value) is inhalable (particle size ~ 7 microns).
- For components containing Portland cement: 10mg/m3 TWA (average value) is the possible value. Cr+6 (6-valent) ~ 0:05 mg/m3.
2. Labor control:
The product is in dry powder form so during use it is necessary to minimize dust generation and skin contact. When transporting VC it is necessary to use a dry system, vacuuming dust from the working environment. When transporting large quantities or packaged powder, a pump system or trough must be used. When the mold carries the flour bag, use a fan to blow away the dust. Professional working and control methods aim to avoid dust, especially moist dust, and avoid skin contact (such as cement dust). Clean when not working.
3. Personal protective equipment when working
Equip personal protective equipment that meets national or international standards:
- Skin protection: contact as little as possible, during work with low-chain C V glue in powder form or mixed with water. Gloves, protective clothing, and shoes should be used to protect against dust and chemicals.
- When working in a wet environment, wear PVC protective shoes to avoid contact with mortar (according to standards AS/NZS 4501 and AS 2161 of Australia and New Zealand). Change gloves, shoes and protective clothing when contaminated with dust and mortar. Personal hygiene, wash off dust and mortar, dry hands, feet, and face before resting, eating, drinking, or smoking.
- Eye protection: Safety eyewear (for example, according to Australian and New Zealand standard AS/NZ 1336) must be used to prevent dust and glue from coming into contact with the eyes when working.
Ignoring respiratory protection: When not controlling the allowable silica dust and cement dust components in the working environment, you must use a dust mask or anti-toxic mask (as standard AS / NZS 1715 or AS/NZS 1716 of Australia and New Zealand). Use only protective equipment and maintain it to a standard appropriate to the method of use.
4. Monitoring method: Monitor the concentration of the product in worker breathing zones or common work areas for OEL compliance and adequate exposure control. Some biological products require appropriate controls. Some examples of recommended methods for air monitoring are given below or contact your supplier. Could be a national method. US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH): Analytical Methods Manual http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/nmam/nmammenu.html Department of Occupational Safety and Health United States (OSHA): Sampling and Analytical Methods http://www. OSHA - slc. gov/dts/sltc/methods/toc.html. UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE): Methodology for identifying hazardous factors http://hls.gov.uk/search.html
